Welcome To The World Of Wega

Wega partners with Cannondale Pro Cycling at the Giro d’Italia

CannondaleWega Macchine per Caffè has renewed its partnership with  team Cannondale Pro Cycling for the ninety-seventh edition of the Giro d’Italia, which will kick off from Belfast next May 9th.

During the 21 stages of the Corsa Rosa, Wega will set up their espresso coffee machines in the Cannondale motorhomes, campers and logistical offices, offering the white-green clad athletes, the team staff and official guests the chance to enjoy a relaxing, Italian style break.

The team captained by Ivan Basso will be able to count on valuable support from Elia Viviani, winner of two stages at the Tour of Turkey, and Moreno Moser. The renewed deal with their squad confirms Wega’s international bent and the brand’s sporting image. We are ready to experience the Giro from the front lines thanks to the special hospitality program developed in collaboration with the team.

“The Giro d’Italia is much more than a simple marketing opportunity: it is the most important showcase in national cycling, which has always been one of Wega’s historical passions. It is also an opportunity for fans and spectators to bring back the pride of this country’s heritage,” explains Paolo Nadalet, CEO for Wega Macchine per Caffè. “A perfect espresso is an element of this cultural baggage and our commitment is to offer the best expression of that as possible; we’ve been setting objectives for ourselves that are more and more ambitious.”

“Once again we can count on the support of an important partner like Wega Macchine per Caffè, synonymous with great company culture and high level performance,” comments Roberto Amadio, Team Manager for Cannondale Pro Cycling. “The qualities that we have in common are a quest for excellence, motivation and the drive to stand out in any challenge: these are the same values that will make us one of the most competitive teams in the 2014 Giro.”

For the first time ever, this year the Corsa Rosa will set off in Northern Ireland. The entire route will cover a total of 3,449.9 Km and include 2 individual time trial stages, 1 team time trial, 4 mid-mountain stages with uphill arrivals and 5 high mountain stages with climbing arrivals. The grand finale will take place in Trieste on June 1st.
