Welcome To The World Of Wega

Wega goes to Cafèstival 2016!

Wega Macchine per Caffè is to attend the first ever Cafèstival 2016, an event created to celebrate one of the most popular drinks in the world and one which lies at the heart of Italian tradition – coffee.

During the two-day event, which will take place on 5th and 6th November, espresso will take the starring role in a sensory journey designed to reveal its versatility. Coffee has a huge influence on our everyday lives: in art, literature, theatre, cinema, music, advertising and even health. The aim of Cafèstival is to enable visitors to discover all this, and more.

Wega will be present as the Made in Italy mark’s sole ambassador for professional coffee machines. In its exhibition space will be displayed a unique My Concept machine specially customised for the event. On its sides will be the Cafèstival logo, while the rear panel will pay tribute to the host city, Bologna, with the city’s skyline captured on an image of one of Wega’s distinctive coffee cups.

The event has an exciting range of events to choose from: four cookery shows in which four famous chefs will go head to head to prepare a series of sweet and savoury delicacies using coffee as their key ingredient; a creative experience that will bring together coffee and ice cream; an exciting series of lectures hosted by leading figures from the Italian cultural scene and business world; a coffee machine museum, and so much more to discover!

Among the activities planned, the event that is guaranteed to steal the limelight is the “Un caffè da 10” competition organised exclusively by Wega and the business association Confesercenti Bologna. The competition is open to coffee bars in Bologna and the surrounding area. The 10 coffee bars receiving the most votes will receive their prize on the Wega stand on Sunday 6th November, when 10 coveted barista bags will be handed over containing all the tools of the trade!
